G'day, We beleive that the music industry is in an exciting and transient state. The way we listen to, purchase, and choose music has been "internationalised" and we can now hand pick our own taste, track by track.
i tunes and other forms of marketing are so subject to the dicernment of the public. The creative edge of music will be sharpened, creative writing and composition will be released from the constraints of maketing rationalisation and a new era in creative content will appear. The last 50 or so years will take time to be undone, the numbness of the public needs to be warmed up, grown as they learn to eat music with their hands not be spoon fed ever again .This means that the idea of the "1 million unit hit" is less possible, one company monopolising a song and milking it will be a thing of the past and alot of little muscians will sell a bit and be happy rather than the days when one muscician got a lot (well, their record company did)and the rest of the musical genesius never had a stage or voice. We are excited at this turn of events and look forward to seeing alot of variety and taste spread into the world as the "people " take back their power of choice and music is returned to the heart of the people and not to their pocket.
What an interesting part this new acess to music will play in the international community, as my friend Sara said we will "find our own clan". Cheers Nina the Bloget
